CUET Eligibility Criteria - 2023

The CUET test has become an important part of every student's education. Because of this, it is very important for every 12th-grade student to take the CUET test. So, the next question is: Can any student take the CUET test?

No! There are two groups of people who are eligible for the CUET. The first is the "Common CUET Eligibility Criteria," and the second is the "Program and College-Specific Eligibility Criteria," which are different. You must meet both requirements. This article tells you to read the eligibility requirements and understand them so that you don't waste your time or risk having your candidacy cancelled.

Do not blindly fill out your CUET application without knowing if you are eligible to do so.

90 universities took part in the Common Universities Entrance Test 2022 and finished it successfully. They are now in the next phase, which is offering admission to different undergraduate programmes at central, state, private, and deemed universities across the country.

People say that CUET is the second largest exam that has ever been given in the country. With 9,68,201 students taking the test, it was easy for NTA to run the test for such a large number of students. The rules for who can apply are not easy to understand because they are different for each course and college. And because of this, it's even more important to read this whole article! The article tells you everything you need to know about the CUET eligibility criteria for undergraduate programmes at different universities in 2023.

Things to remember:
  • For admission to Central Universities through CUET 2023, the university's current rules about quotas, categories, relaxations, reservations, qualifications, subject combinations, preferences, etc., will be used.
  • As the CUET admissions requirements may be different for each university, you should check out the website of the university to which you are applying.
  • Even if you take the entrance exam or get the minimum qualifying score, you won't be considered for admission unless you also meet the university's requirements for your programme.

Eligibility Criteria for the Common Universities Entrance Test (CUET) in 2023
Check to see if you meet the CUET eligibility requirements for 2023 before filling out the NTA CUET Application Form. We don't think there will be many changes to the rules about who can apply and how reservations are made in the next academic year, either.

In general, the eligibility requirements for CUET 2023 can be broken down into three categories:
  • Age Limit
  • How to Get an Education
  • Minimum qualifying marks
1 - CUET Age Limit 2023
Question: I'm 23 years old. Am I qualified to apply?
The CUET UG eligibility age limit says that there is no limit on how old you can be to take the entrance exam.
You will, however, have to meet the age requirements (if any) of the university to which you want to apply.

2 - CUET Education Qualification 2023
Question: I'm in 11th grade. Can I take CUET 2023?
If you want to take UG courses, you must have finished class 12 or an equivalent test from a university or board that is recognised. According to the official notice, people who are taking their 12th grade exams in 2023 can also apply for the Common Universities Entrance Test.

3 - Minimum Qualifying Marks 2023
Question: I got 75 marks in the 12th grade. Am I qualified to take the CUET test?
To be eligible for the Common Universities Entrance Test 2023, you must have gotten a minimum qualifying score on your class 12 exam or an exam that is the same or similar. But the minimum scores for each university that wants to take part are different. So, if you want to get into a certain course at a certain university, it's best to check out the university's official website. Also, keep in mind that you can only take the CUET "n" times. You can take this test if you meet the CUET eligibility requirements for 2022.

Reservation Policy for CUET in 2023
This part is very helpful for students from backward classes, who are given reservations as a reward. According to the rules set by the Government of India, a certain number of seats are set aside for Indian citizens who belong to certain reserved groups.

In the case of Central Universities, on the other hand, the reservation policy is based on the rules of each university. To get the benefit of the reservation, you need to upload the required category certificate to the online application form. The certificate should have been issued on or after January 1, 2023, according to the latest rules set by the Government of India.

See the table below to find out what you need to upload to the registration form based on your category.
